Safe(r) Camp Challenge

Safe(r) Camp Challenge

This year we are releasing an online planning course for folks interested in creating spaces that minimize the likelihood of sexual assault and all other boundary violations in their community.

The Safe(r) Camp Challenge provides an introduction to information necessary to create spaces that are safer and more accessible to many different folks.

How Does It Work?

It is an online course found here.  There is a series of lectures, and assignments. These are for the folks who are involved in camp leadership, in community building or event organizing.

Just fill out the quick survey to get started, and head on over to the videos.  Assignments can be submitted to our email: burnerconsentnetwork@gmail.com.

There is also an consent 101 video, for all individuals who are camping in the Safe(r) camp.

Requirements

Camps that want to be Safe(r) Camp Certified need complete the online course, submit all projects and have all campers watch the consent 101 video.

This might seem like a lot of work, but it can be done on your own time, and should really only take about 6 hours of work total.

What does it get you?

We will be tracking and posting a list of all certified camps, who are dedicated to making the burn a consent-centric space! We are also partnering with the 11th principle to make rad consent-centric flags  or banners for Certified Safe Camps (require a small donation) who would like one.

We will likely also be partnering with BED to provide the rad consent-themed buttons for any camps who want them.

Don't Like Our Trainings? Or this is boring? You can do the condensed format!

Same requirements, but instead of watching our videos, just read this TLDR script, and do the assignments!
